about

Every once in a while a song emerges with a theme that is not common but has universal appeal. “Maybe” is song about the mass emotions when we choose to end a relationship. Whether this is the loss of a partner, friend or an important part of your life, it is a roller coaster of emotions and feelings that reach from the depth of despair to the realization that “Maybe it was all meant to be”.

The song pulls at the emotions and by the end and becomes a form of therapy.

lyrics

I lost a part of myself
Because I believed in you
Now I’m all alone
Can’t believe it’s true
You were my everything
I put all my life in you
The shards are like broken glass
I don’t know what I’m gonna do

Maybe I’ll seek out another one
Maybe I just don’t care
Maybe I’ll cry my heart out
And pretend that you’re not there
Maybe I’ll drown the heartache
With fake friends and cheap wine
Maybe I’ll go on with my life
I’ll tell myself I’m fine

Now I cut your poison out
It hurt like hell and I wanted to die
I cut off my social life
Cause they just couldn’t chose which side

I’m told to move on but I can’t
Replays keep going through my mind
Of things I should and should not say
Constantly hit rewind

Maybe it was just my wounded pride
Maybe I just didn’t see the signs
Maybe I just chose to be blind
Maybe it was all in my mind
Maybe I just could not see
This was all meant to be

These thoughts are coming to the end
That you were once by bosom friend
And what keeps going through my mind
Is how you broke the ties that bind
And you did it without a care
Like I was never really there
Was I really there?

Maybe it was just my wounded pride
Maybe I just didn’t see the signs
Maybe I just chose to be blind
Maybe it was all in my mind
Maybe I just could not see
This was all meant to be
